Accidental Blogger

A general interest blog

The blogroll on the left has increased by one.  The site came to my attention through a comment left by its author on Accidental Blogger.  The author of the weblog uses the blogging nom de plume "Shunya,"  Sanskrit for zero. I am not sure why – perhaps he will tell us.  His site certainly belies the number when measured by the profusion of material it contains. Please check it out here.

  2. In France, Zero is a term of abuse. I once sat on the steps of Biarritz railway station at six in the morning and watched soldiers whizzing around the station car park in jeeps aggressively shouting ‘Zero, Zero’ at each other (but not actually fighting of course).

  3. That is one perspective and a pretty instinctive one perhaps. In this case though, the author is paying tribute to the concept of zero which revolutionalized the numbers system and transformed mathematics. If you link to the URL he provides in his comment above, you will find several reference to “zero” – all good, all non-abusive. :-)
