A general interest blog

Just over a year ago, I had brought the young Delhi artist, Richa Arora to the attention of A.B. readers. As I explained in the original post, Richa got my attention with her bold use of color, lines and angles.  Her abstract depiction of real life scenes with geometric precision is a style I find attractive. Richa has sent me the photos of her latest creations which I am again pleased to exhibit here. All the paintings are oil and acrylic on canvas. Be sure to click on the images for enlargement.  (Those  who began reading A.B. after March 2006, please check out Richa’s earlier works here.)

Since Richa’s pictures first appeared here, I am happy to report that I have become the proud owner of one of the paintings originally featured on A.B.  So when I say that I like Richa’s work, you can rest assured that I have put my money where my mouth is. :-)

These seem to have a more muted palette compared with the earlier ones, but just as impressive. Which one did you purchase?

  2. I acquired Integration. In the older post, that is the second painting from the top left – the two blue triangular wedges connected by the white string. I had seen it in person and liked it right away. Richa and I arranged to have the canvase taken off the stretcher bars and mailed to me rolled up in a mailing tube. I had it re-stretched and framed here. I chose a very contemporary frame in two toned matte silver which plays up the speckled background. Both Richa and I are delighted with the final result.
