After finally viewing the Hitchens interview on CNN, I’m amazed that he actually sounds fairly coherent and less ‘drink-soaked’ than his Daily Show appearance some time back. I guess he must have cleaned up in time to promote his new book (vanished stubble, etc.)
Ruminating on whether I ought to rename F-n-S to the Weekly Curmudgeon, or something similar, but a quick check in the dictionary disabused me of that notion:
Curmudgeon : 1: a MISER 2 : a crusty, ill-tempered, and usually old man. I don’t think I’m quite that miserly, though I will admitted to being frugal. As far as definition 2, I’m of the wrong gender. “Weekly Curmudgeoness” does have a bit of a ring to it, but I fear no one would ever visit, since it’s not in the dictionary.
How about the Weekly Nag/Nagger? :-)
Dictionary definition:
verb: 1. to annoy by persistent faultfinding, complaints, or demands.
2. to keep in a state of troubled awareness or anxiety, as a recurrent pain or problem.
Noun: someone (especially a woman) who annoys people by constantly finding fault.
But no, you do it too good humoredly.
