Chris Mooney of the science blog, Intersection, reports that a category 4 or 5 cyclone is poised to devastate Bangladesh. (Mooney began reporting on the storm long before the US media had published a single story about the impending disaster.) In his estimation, the damage caused by the storm is likely to match Katrina’s devastation. I suspect it will be greater. Bangladesh is a very populous and low lying country which is poor and poorly equipped to handle the aftermath of such a blow. (link to Intersection via Razib)
