The recipient of numerous honors, Houston’s best known doctor, Michael E. DeBakey received the Congressional Gold Medal yesterday. The medal was presented to the 99 year old DeBakey by congressional leaders with fellow Texan, President George W. Bush in attendance at the ceremony in the Capitol Rotunda. Also present were Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and elected representatives from Texas.
