What on earth was Bobby Jindal thinking?  Even for Republicans, this is off the deep end.  We shouldn't spend money monitoring volcano activity because if they explode with no warning hey man it's cool, potentially thousands of dead people and hundreds of millions of dollars worth of property is no biggie.  I know that advanced warning of Hurricane Katrina didn't do as much good as it could have when it hit Jindal's state because of government incompetence, but seriously?  That's not a winner.  No one wants to see people becoming one with a flood of molten rock.

  1. What an unmitigated disaster Bobby “Bombed” Jindal was! Granted Barack Obama is a tough act to follow. But this bad? From the Great Brown Brainy Hope, who Rush Limbaugh told us would rescue the Republican Party from its intellectual slump? Wow!
The GOP is in a pathetic “monkey see, monkey do” mode. A black Democratic president is elected; they elect a black national party chairman. The same black president, the son of a foreign father, addresses the nation; the Republicans send out a brown man of foreign parentage to rebut the president. But what is the content of their message? The same old drivel. While the red states, the bastion of right wing politics are among the poorest, at the mercy of the largesse of liberal states, Jindal boastfully condemns the Democrats for spending and giving hand outs! “Cut taxes,” is the only tired old remedy he could come up with. Health care? Education reform? Jobs? Disaster relief? You will get them all if you cut taxes, Jindal reassures us. What ignorance! What chutzpah! And that too from the governor of a state which is still floundering from the gross mismanagement of a Republican administration. The most irritating of Jindal’s refrain was the sing-song words of his father, “Bobby, Americans can do anything.” The GOP thought Bobby J., their wonder boy, would erupt on the national scene like a volcano. All he managed was to crumple like a punctured tire.
