A few weeks ago, I saw the intriguing works of twin painters Amr
it and Rabindra, better known as the Singh Twins via Asian Window. They have applied the techniques of Indian miniatures to contemporary Indo-British life, making for an intriguing and what they like to term a 'Past Modern' approach to painting.
They use the same vivid and highly detailed composition and techniques as the Indian miniaturists of yore, examplified here in the Padshahnama pictures of court life in the age of the Mughals.
