Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged is the biggest piece of garbage I'm proud to say I've never read. Well, apparently they're making it into a movie. Or a miniseries, I'm not sure. But definitely starring Charlize Theron, or else some other beautiful blonde actress who can't act. Anyway, in advance, the Onion's A.V. Club has a funny and appropriately scathing review. (h/t that guy with all the blogs)

‘Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged is the biggest piece of garbage I’m proud to say I’ve never read.’
:-). the book however fascinated me when i read it in my college days. Rand’s first book ‘we the living’ is worth the read – was written before the ideology remained a cogent idea and had not developed into a paranoia.
am looking forward to the movie – – besides, it’d be toeing the cause of the giant corporates.LikeLike

errata: was written before the ideology remained a cogent idea and had not developed into a paranoia.
corrected as: was written at a time when the ideology remained a cogent idea and had not developed into a paranoia.
do forgive oversight.LikeLike

Charlize Theron certainly CAN act; see her in MONSTER, the movie about serial killer Aileen Wuornos.

Atlas Shrugged is the biggest piece of garbage I have read. Greed as a virtue? Unregulated capitalism? No FDA, banking regulations, taxes for schools, fire departments, roads, etc. and we’d all be in deep doo doo.
