Did You Ever Notice? (Norman Costa)

Did you ever notice how he could uncover conspiracies like the placement of soap dishes in a shower so that the water spray would hasten its disappearance?

Why is it that he could get me to stay for all of "60 Minutes" so I could listen to his complaining?

How come he was the only writer to notice that the coffee in a coffee can weighs less and less while the can stays the same size?

I guess it's one of those mysteries of the universe that scientists keep telling us about. If you ask me, I think it's the scientists that are the mysterious ones.

Good bye, Andy Rooney.

Andy Rooney was truly one of the great commentators on the human condition. I loved his humor which always contained a healthy dose of sarcasm. He wasn’t afraid to make himself the butt of his humor. Little things that bother many of us were brought to the full light of day by Andy Rooney. I’ll admit I quit watching 60 Minutes some years back, but will miss his wit and insights.

  2. A lucky man. One could say that Andy Rooney died on the saddle having just retired a couple of weeks ago from a job he enjoyed. His sign-off segment had become as much the public face of 60 Minutes as the program’s ticking clock logo. A full and successful life, by all accounts.
